Cut the guitars hair , and cut it short
cutting them short isn't a very good idea either
If your guitar runs out of tune for cutting them too short , then you either put your strings on wrong , or your tuning pegs are very unstable .... The guitar stores i've been to in my life always have their guitars cut short " VERY SHORT " , and i cut mine to about 5mm or so , and it stays perfectly in tune on my end , so i would say that if your guitar goes out of tune because the strings are too short , then there is definetly something wrong somewhere , maybe you put the strings on wrong around the stringpost ?
if you notice, i said i cut mine at about half a cm, also the same as 5mm :P

i wasn't saying i had a problem with this, but people with lower end guitars would have to deal with this.

and i really resent the fact that you thought i put my strings on the wrong tuning pegs :(

Im sorry , i just thought that you ment your guitar ran out of tune from that , and i would assume that something was wrong either with the hardware or they way you string your guitar , otherwise it should keep in tune :( Once again im sorry FJ , please forgive me

Yeah its good warning people , but even on a low end guitar i haven't personally seen anyone having those issues , but sometimes even a high end guitar can give problems if the strings are wrapped around the stringpost in a wrong way
