714-CE or LV-09
Yeah. The construction of the guitar effects that sound as much as the player does. Otherwise even the big name artists would go with cheap guitars if it didn't make a difference. More expensive guitars just tend to be easier to play, which allows you to use the talent you have much more easily.Kahn wrote:Unless by "fingers and heart" you mean fine Brazillian Rosewood and spruce tops juxtaposed by fine craftsmanship and precision patented bracing, Im gonna go ahead and call you out on saying some dumb shit.sozomenos wrote:The sound is not in the guitar; it's in your fingers and heart.
As to the topic though. From the two, I wouldn't go with the Taylor. I've played a few, and found them a bit too bright for my taste. While I'm personally saving up for a Martin D-35, I'd still go with the Larivee for those two.

Ya, if you play a 714 and still think it's too bright then Taylors are not for you, because it's one of the most mellow taylors you are going to find with that cedar top. I love my 714ce, but it's a really great sounding one, and plus the newer bracing Taylor is using brightens then up even more. Also it has really matured being 5 years old.
