I played a taylor baby and big baby at guitar center once. You're paying mostly for the name. It shouldn't of been worth more then my alvarez.

Also, I played a Larrivee D-10 dread. Oh God I lost it. This guitar blew my mind, it was listed at 1799 at Guitar Center. I need to save up.

I got a new guitar today everyone!! I am pleased to announce I bought my first (of hopefully many) Takamine guitar, its a EG523SC Blue with a peral pick guard, and I couldnt be happier. Its a good feeling when you know you'll have something this nice to play in the future. Plus im a poor college student so the $30 a month plan works great!!

I have that same guitar and I had absolutely no idea it came in blue now. I love it. Pretty funky instrument indeed. You won't be missed playing that thing. Where do you go to school? That guitar would go great at my college (http://www.uky.edu).OLDMANTIME wrote:I got a new guitar today everyone!! I go to the University of North Dakota, in Grand Forks. Pretty crazy college town with a few little guitar shops here and their. The guy said they just got it in stock a few weeks ago, I was glad to take it off his hands!slimerdmb24 wrote:I have that same guitar and I had absolutely no idea it came in blue now. I love it. My Mexican Standard Strat (my first guitar)

My Gibson Les Paul Custom

My Taylor 314ce (I installed gold tuners on mine)

I'm dying to get my hands on a Martin D-28, a Taylor 714ce, and a Taylor W65ce.

Re: **Official Guitar Review Thread**
I just got a Martin DCX1E cutaway from my dad for Christmas. it has a solid spruce top with highpressure laminate sides and back. at first look i was scared that it was a shitty martin that is more expensive just because of the Martin name on it. After playing it i realize that there is no loss in quality and that it is a beautiful guitar. Knowing that it will be hard to beat up the laminate is also a bonus only being 17 years old and heading off to college in a few years.
anyone who has played it i would love some feedback

The discussion about the X series of Martin if that, for the price of pay, you can get a full solid body from other brands.
Anyway, I am sure you will have great fun with that one, and it'll hold value better for you to sell it in 5 years, when you decide to buy a D35

Congratulation on the new guitar!

I play a Taylor K24ce. It's my favorite of all my guitars.
