my epi chet came and i felt compelled to post this.
it is the finest thing i have ever owned, it fits my style perfectly, and its purdy.
im thinkin about putting a rosewood pickguard similar to les paul style but without cutouts on it to match the fingerboard and bridge and protect its virgin body. I was also thinkin about havin pearl block inlays with gold borders put in. (to match my gold pearl topped knobs) any thoughts?

things are much more elegant without a pickguard... if you need one get a clear one.

i dont think guitarists should need a pickguard though.. learn how to strum.

When I strum hardcore I hit my pickguard. Especially if Im play #41. The ending I try to get funky as ehll so I really hit that pickguard.

are you going to put a neck pin on for the strap?
I want an Epi-chet and I want the neck pin on it. Is it hard to put on? Would I have to bring it somewhere to have it done?

an old wood working tip to keep grain from ripping when drilling is to cover that spot being drilled with masking tape. it does help when the wood is fragile and wants to splinter. It gives me a feeling of safety when drilling nice pieces

it's been so incredibly long since i've posted here, it took me forever to find my username. (i've been hanging out in the howie boards  )

ANYWAY...i'm about to purchase an Alvarez MF80C in a couple weeks. it's got a folk body and is solid mahogany/spruce. i really like it a lot for a $650 guitar. sounds really good unplugged and the 600T electronics are great(built in tuner...joy). here's a pic:
