**Official Guitar Review Thread**
ive only been playin for about 8 months, I have 3 guitars:
Custom Washburn KC-20v - i got it from a pawn shop and made it much betterer. I'm lookin to sell it. Its on net instruments email me if your interested.
http://netinstruments.com/a.php?a=29580
Les Paul I made from a saga Kit. Sounds great and looks good.
And finally, my baby. A Penco A-160. I know very little about this guitar. What i do know is that i got it for free for cleaning out my uncles basement (Where it was) Its a dreadnought style bodied acoustic electric that has pretty generic looks but plays fantastically. I dont know how much its worth but my uncle played it since he was 16 so its 34 years old. The tag inside the soundhole says: Penco Guitars, distributed exclusively by Philadelphia music company inc. Limerick PA 19469 made in japan. The serial number is worn off. It was probably a company owned by martin because it looks very similar to some martins and it has the double dot on the 7th fret. I've played some of the exspensive martins and taylors and i can honestly say this guitar stands up to them. If anybody has any info please email me or post here!
I'm also looking at purchasing a Chet Atkins SST but i cant afford the gibson ones so i was wondering if anybody knew how well the epiphones stand up to the gibsons in the chet atkins department. THanks

I own both (Epi is just a jam guitar) and I think its incredible underrated. Its worth much more then just 400 dollars. Of course, you wont get the Gibson sounds (nothing can beat the Gibson sound) but You can get a decent acoustic sound and if you want Daves sound, its not too hard to get something similar. All around a good guitar and very much worth it. I suggest you look on ebay. Many many epis on there and they go at least 100$ cheaper then what you will get in a store. Plus you get some free goodies.praisedave wrote:ive only been playin for about 8 months, I have 3 guitars:

erll, iyd obvioudly made cheaper so they arent going to spend the money to make it exactly like the Gibson. There has to be differences. Yea, its a piezio pickup. I got gold covers for mine.praisedave wrote:thanks I'll check that ou (whats the deal with the two know sticking out of the epiphone, they're not on the gibson, is that just a different EQ?)

Hi guys, this is my first post. I've visited this board occasionally while getting some great DMB tabs. I never noticed any Breedlove guitars mentioned around here, so here you go, Its a AC25/SR acoustic-electric, solid spruce top, indian rosewood back, sides and fretboard, Fishman Classic IV pickup, pinless bridge, and the Breedlove bracing system. In the backround you can see a GSA60 ibanez electric, and definitly not shown is a POS johnson acoustic.
