I'm making it long and hard! and it's coming!
good luck bro!
it's a lot of work ... i built one from a kit ... rosewood back/sides with solid sitka spuce top ... but i let a local woodworker gloss the top for me ... me and a spray gun can never get on the same page.
... think i had about $600 in materials and tools by the time it was finished. looked good and sounded good i thought ... as good as any mass manufactured guitar i have played.
I sold it 4 months later on ebay for $970 ... took the $ and bought me a new Martin.

that sounds really sweet, I may need to try this out. Got any info I could look up on this?Oahu wrote:$400.00 after Tuners. It seems to be a real nice kit though, the grain on the mahogany is gorgeous and the spruce is bright and tight. Detailed instructional video as well.
They don't provide finishing instructions- that's going to take some work.

You want to get a kit from Martin, http://www.stewmac.com, or http://www.lmii.com. Lmii is the superior and cheaper source so far as I can tell, but they want some more work out of you (shaping the bracing, etc...) Might be a good choice for someone's second kit guitar. The tool prices can be a little scary if you don't have access to a woodshop.

Good thing about Oahu's threads are the way he titles them. I knew exactly what to do a search on cause it was so easy to remember his one liner subject titles.
So, Oahu, you mentioned in another thread that your friends need to leave you alone because you have a guitar to build.....
HOW IS IT COMING?
