Seriously consider that Gibson SG Special Faded. I was in your boat at one time. I'm an acoustic player who uses the electric for fun. I just figured that if I was going to spend money on a guitar, I should make it a decent one so that when I got better, I wouldn't want to get rid of it. It's a great guitar and I love it. Definitely a guitar you can grow into.

Look on the Harmony Central website and look up some reviews if you're interested.

If you get it at a place like Guitar Center, be ready to take it to a good guitar shop and pay the few bucks to get it set up correctly. It's a good place to get good prices, but GC doesn't take care of their inventory. At least go play one and see how you like it.

awesome, you have one??? the only complaints i hear about is that it has soft wood and it dents really easily...now this wouldn't be a problem but i wanna keep it for a long time. how has yours been?
