I dont like the look of the Mahogany top but there are some people on the boards that would tell you to deffinatley go for that guitar (TrippinBill, etc  ) But if you like the look of it then just add it to your list of guitars to try out.

GuitarGuy im gonna tell you some stuff about taylor (who i voted for).. some people dont like taylor and i cant understand why. ive played the DC-16RGTE and let me say it was very nice, but there was something to be lacked. first off, Taylor has the best fretwork my fingers have ever been graced with. im sure people remember how ive been a supporter of lakewood, well my mom wont let me order online so im gonna have to back taylor 100% - taylors have an amazing sound and this was before they revoiced their guitars. i remember some people dont like how taylors dont have enough bass - well taylors have revoiced their guitars, meaning theyve restructured their bracing which adds for bass, which i find better sounding than martins. they revoice their dreadnoughts and jumbos (so far, im expecting the GAs soon) on the 500+ series and they sound amazing, same great highs with awesome lows. my $.02

I really like the way Taylors sound and play, too. In fact, I signed up to get the free video on their site about their new neck designs....its pretty cool. I like the "natural" look on some of the Martin guitars, but I don't know how they would play with elixir strings on them...and I have only tried one. Seems like the poll shows that there are some Taylor lovers here

Does anyone know what Dave plays more often? How about in the videos on the site here....what guitar is that?

dave plays taylors more now. the guitar on the videos here is jareds friends guitar which i believe is a 314-ltd which has koa back and sides but i could be mistaken. jared now has a D-16RGTE maybe? something like that.

Shane, I totally agree with you about the fretwork, the 310ceLtd I used to want so bad was amazing to play. I dont think Ill be able to find it when I get the money so Im going for a 400 series probably (not sure which one yet) but when I played it, it felt like it was made for me. My hands just went to each chord so perfectly and flowed so well, I loved it. Shane let me know when they revoice the GA's and Dreadnoughts on the 300 and 400 series cuz I think I want a 414ce, maybe a 410ce.

GuitarGuy, I watched that Taylor video and had to quit like halfway through. I didnt expect it to be that long at all, it was informative but got very boring after a while. Anyway, I cant wait till I got $1300 burning a whole in my pocket, I need a new guitar. But seeing as Im gonna end up owing like 40G's in student loans when Im done Ill probably never get one. Either that or Ill just say fuck it and ask for even more to much money so I can buy a guitar, Im gonna be so screwed when I graduate.

as of this moment i dont know of any plans to revoice the 300 or 400 series. im not even positive about the x14s.

im expecting them to be revoiced because of a lot of people requesting them. not to mention why would you go through the trouble of revoicing just 2 of your body styles?
