i think it would make it sound worse, actually. i would think some parts of the sound would go out one way and one another and things would just sound all messed up and uneven. Not to mention it looks like a woodpecker got a hold of your guitar, but did a nice job peckin' a hole out of your guitar...

EDIT: on a side note, from whoever posted the example from that custom guitar builder, I really like this guitar . i would get it and tell them to forget the sound port BS. http://www.klepperguitars.com/madrose.html#

:ehright:

This is one of the dumbest ideas I have seen in a while. I wouldn't cut a hole in an Esteban guitar to hear it better. The best idea if you want your guitar to be louder is to pick up a friggin electric...
Yeah, that's a genius statement right there. Because, y'know, an acoustic and an electric sound exactly the same.

Or do the rolly eyes mean that you're sarcastic? I hope so...

I would. The hole would encompass the neck and entire body. That would sound better.

Sadly, you are probably right.

well like i said i put one in my fender and it made it better. i could hear more sound ans it was crisper. although when i sold my fender people where a bit thoughtfull before buying it. most people just saw it as a whole in a guitar, so i printed some stuff about soundports off line and sold it with the guitar. the buyer was happy. especialy after playing the fender and them picking up my martin and asking why the martin sounded more muffled?!!! granted it does not have the fine sound that my martin does but the soundport does take what the fender is saying and clears it up! it does not harm the guitar at all. it is realy in the owners mind. play one some time and you will see. but like somebody was saying before there are other was to get more sound from youir guitar.

I don't have a guitar that I'd do that too, but it might be interesting just to try it on a $100 guitar, to hear the difference. Not that testing a hole in a guitar isworth 100 buec.s
