What't the best guitar for under $300

That is a great price...and Goop, you got ripped. I paid the same price for a S-6 anniversaire (or however it is you spell that in french) edition, which has a sick flame maple back and sides and has a high gloss coating. That also included a case. At haight-ashbury music in San Francisco, they were selling regular S-6's for $315, and while I was there they said any Canadian made guitar was an additional 20% off for the weekend...wow.

Looking back, I would probably buy an Art&Lutherie or Simon&Patrick (Both made by the same people who make seagulls) because you get pretty much the same great tone and a narrower neck. The wide neck on the Seagull makes it harder for me to barre.

I actually have a hard time w/barre chords on it too....I really like it for fingerpicking songs though.
