LR Baggs M1 Active
Congratulations on getting the pickup! I work @ Long&McQuade music store in Toronto Canada; I can honestly say that the LR Baggs M1 is one of the best p/u's on the market today.
We stuck it in a Taylor 814ce (which has the expression system), and plugged the m1 into one side of an amp, and the expression system into the other side. Up until this point, I thought that Taylor had the best p/u on the market, but as soon as I switched to the channle with the M1, I was converted!
Because the M1 is a double stack magnet, there is no feedback, and the sound reproduction is very rich, warm, and accurate. As well, it runs on a lithium Ion battery, which gives you 1000 playing hours (they also give you an extra battery!) vs a regular AA battery.
Finaly, the taylor has a piezo p/u, which will always give you that harsh attack sound; the M1 has individually adjustable sound poles for each string to give you ultimate control! (plus a volume control on the unit itself).
For those of you with Larrivees, they are already pre-drilled for a 1/4" whole, it's a quick $10 install. We sell the p/u for $240 Cdn.
Congratulations again!

They require a 1/2' hole on the end where the female plug goes. I think that Larivess already have that size. The instilation is very easy, and I imagine it could be removed easily, but I have yet to take mine off. I dont remember exactley how much I paid for mine, but they arnt cheap. Kinda get what you pay for tho.. Feel free to ask more specific questions, Ive been using mine for about 7-8 months.

- Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": Dr. Peter Venkman: I make it a rule never to get involved with possessed people. Actually it's more of a guideline than a rule.

The dude that opened for him use to be the guitar player in Weezer (Matt something?) and guess what knd of pickups he had on his guitars? Yup, M1 Actives, although his show wasnt the best, those guitars sounded great!
