Thanks for all the opinions , guys

Czech, I do plan to go to Canada this fall, and I'm sure I can get a good deal again there. The problem is my patience, though...I really want a new guitar now :)

I got a mail from the store that sells the used Landola. This guitar is a beauty, and it's in mint condition. I've been in love with Landola guitars ever since I started playing, and I won't be able to get a hold of one in Canada. Here are some pics of the one I wanna buy:

It has a Fishman (prefix Matrix, the mail said) pickup...is that any good? Damn, I really want it :)

The guitar looks nice, but for that price you should really consider the Audi A6... :)

The Fishman Matrix is fine.

It is pretty easy to get overwhelmed with enthusiasm when looking for a guitar. :) I waited several months for mine and it was well worth it... Analyse all your options and then make decision.

Definetely, I have this urge to just get right away hehehe
It's a bit annoying that none of the stores here have the d15,so I'm not able to test it now. The guy who sells it lives 10 hours away from me, and the store with the Landola is also that far away. I'm gonna go to the local store one day and check if they have any Landolas there, but I doubt it.

I also got a mail about the custom guitar, and that one's even cheaper than the Martin. I'm getting really excited about this...I guess I've decided to go through with this and sell the ones I own now. Deciding to get a new guitar is a nice feeling, and the search for the right one is definetely fun :)

you can't buy one on ebay or online from an american company and have them ship it. it cant cost that much more to ship it there.

Oh, sorry, I forgot to answer that part of your question. I have to pay 24% import tax on anything I buy from outside of Norway (+shipping), which will up the price a bit, but it'll still be a lot cheaper I guess.

I'm gonna e-mail the store I bought the Taylor from in Toronto, and ask them for a pricelist. My brother, who studies there, is going home to Norway soon, and I can get him to buy one for me. That way I'd get around both the import tax and the shipping. I actually e-mailed all the people I work with today and told'em I'm selling my guitars, and one guy said he was very interested in the acoustic.

Thanks for making me think of that, Alex

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": Dr. Peter Venkman: I make it a rule never to get involved with possessed people. Actually it's more of a guideline than a rule.

no problem. and if you really want i'd buy it for you and ship it like it was a gift. then would you have to pay import taxes if it is shipped with no receipt or invoice?

and if you have $1,500 to spend in america.... ....you can get an awesome guitar!!!

Thanks for the offer, I'll definetely keep it in mind  . I'm not sure if I could get around the taxes like that, cause they would perhaps estimate the value of it and make me pay that. I'll check it out, though, as it would be well worth the effort.

And yes, I was just browsing Muscian'sfriend.com and I'd definetely be able to get a hell of a guitar for that money in the US :)

does sweden have the same thing?
You could always have it shipped to swede or someone in sweden and pick it up there.

I'm not sure if they have it, but my guess is yes. I'm gonna have to find out. I really hope it'll work out with my bro in Toronto though, as that would make things very easy. I'm not sure if guitars are as cheap in Canada as in the US, but I hope so. I'll send the Canadian Mitch a PM and ask, while I wait for the price list from the store in Toronto.

actually, canada's currency is worth less than ours, so you should be able to get a pretty good deal on a guitar there. And they aren't charged tarriffs or taxes on goods from teh US thanks to NAFTA (to my understanding).

So you should get a good deal from there.
