hhhhheeeyyyoooooooo. You think its a stupid rule to pick an item based on where its made? I would pick the country that makes them best and as of now...most would agree that North American guitars are the best quality...kind of like most electronics originated in asian countries...and pharmaceuticals in Cananda...okay, I made that last one up. I do like the assclown comment though...very creative...do you write your own material? What's next? Maybe a Titanic reference?

i never said it was wrong to pick something based on where its made. I said i dont agree with not looking at something based on where its made. because companies like larrivee may be (argueably) one of the best companies out there , but this guy will never play one only becuase its not made here. im just trying to help someone out.

I hear ya. I was probably over the line with my first comment, so I apologize. It just seemed like a lot of people jumped on the guys back for wanting to buy American. He shouldn't necessarily rule out any company b/c of where its made, but I don't think its wrong to "buy American" especially in the case of guitars. As I said before I own a larrivee (Canadian) that I love and a Taylor that I love...both are great guitars. I have owned foreign guitars before (an Ovation, an Alvarez that was a nice guitar especially for $250, and a Dean, which I also liked...come to think of it, I have no idea where the Dean was made. But none are as nice as the North American guitars I have now are).

haha...screw you. I've also been drinking tonight, so I tend to be a little more "loose" with the comments.

I never said I wouldn’t play one I own an Alvarez and I like it just as much as my Martin, my first guitar was a rogue which i believe was made in China and assembled in Honduras. This really has nothing to do with what I want, I just wanted to know in others opinion what the best American Guitar was. Maybe I’ll start another one best Asian Guitar for under $1000 to make everyone happy. It’s really not that big of a deal guys, it was just an inquiry for people’s ideas on this topic of American Made Guitars… but thanks for your help regardless of the minor hostility.
