If I was in your shoes I would think about going for a custom made from a small luthier like Kronbauer. I have no personal experience with them, but a lot of people over at http://www.acousticguitarforum.com are getting them and say great things about them. The best part is that it is custom so you can talk to them about what exactly you want. The base price of these has already gone up about $350 from about 6 months ago (If I remember correctly) so now is a good time to jump on this builder.

This is their website

For what its worth, I play a taylor 714, and a larrivee OM-05 mahogony top and love both, but neither has the boominess you are looking for.

I purchased the guitar over the weekend. I ended up getting the D-35. I loved the sounds of all the guitars I played and would like to own them all. But for the time being, the D-35 matches the sound I am looking for the most.

Congratulations!

Where did you buy it?

I am planning to visit Philadelphia this summer and it would be nice to know some nice guitar stores.

I bought it at Medley Music. http://www.medleynet.com/ I tried Sam Ash, Guitar Center, Medley Music and 8th Street Music.

Why I chose Medley-

Sam Ash - Feels like the Walmart of music stores. Their D-35 was kind of beat up since everyone kid comes in and plays it.

Guitar Center - They must work on commission because the employee made me feel like he was blocking the door unless I purchased a 5K guitar on the spot.

8th Street Music - I didn't like their layout. Guitars were randomly scattered throughout the store.

Medley Music - I felt the two gentlemen who work there were very knowledgeable. They have an acoustic room upstairs and they take great care of the guitars. They make you take keys out of your pocket and what not to make sure nothing gets damaged. They also sold it to me cheaper than anywhere else. Guitar Center, Sam Ash and Medley all had a sticker of $2099. But they said that is just hte sticker price and gave me $1700 without even haggling. If you go there, try some lowden guitars, they are amazing.

Congrats on the new guitar. I've wanted to play a Lowden for a while now. Which one did you get a chance to play?
