400 or higher of a series if youre getting a taylor. But by your post it sounds like you havent played a 400, 600, or 700 series Taylor, so how do you know you want one? Go out and play everything, buy what sounds good to you in your price range.

I have a 314 tha I play more than any other guitar. It has a bone nut and saddle, maybe that's why it sounds really good to me. I couldn't hear much of a difference between my 314 and other 400, 500, or 600 series Taylors. 700, 800 and 900 are a different story. They had a fuller bassier sound to them.

I had a 912c ... A nice guitar but after a while I realized it really didn't have the depth I was looking for ... To be honest I'm not sure a x14ce does either ... That's why I was wetting myself over the Takamine Jumbo ...

I would very strongly advise that you buy specifically the guitar you play. Don't play a 414ce and then go get one on ebay ... You really need to play the specific guitar you want to buy.

Other than that, think about what you want it for ... sometimes that really makes a difference.
