Daves 914 i think it is costs about 9,500 if i recall correctly and the 714ce about 7,000 or so. Martins and Taylors are also more popular amoung famous artists. You dont see many amateurs with them because of their prices but once you get advanced enough they are really worth saving for. Taks....are cheap for the most part, some are really good but most....in my opinion, really sound like crap and feel wrong. I don't like the actions at all. Just my opinion.

I don't know where this came from. My tak sounds awesome and definitely wasn't cheap. I paid about $1,300. No, I didn't get ripped off. It's worth that much. Taks sound great.kcw wrote:I personally hate taks. I can't really say why but whenever I hold and play one it just doesnt seem right. I've never heard someone bash a Tak who actually played one. People who say they have probably haven't. Sure, not everyone will like them, but as I ALWAYS say, they are so underrated.dmbguitar718 wrote:gracias, señor.Coldchillin23222 wrote:I don't know where this came from. try http://www.taylorguitars.com buddy.
And plus I play Taks all the time. I really dont like them. Second one guitarist may like one guitar another may like another. Its just a difference in opinon. I was sharing my opinion as i stated in my first post. You guys like then, fine. But dont say bad stuff about me just because I dont. Either way at Taylorguitars.com they have a price list and Daves 914 and 714 are there for close to what i stated. You can even look at pictures of the guitars to see for yourself its what Dave plays. The price list is a little hard to find but its there.

List price on a 714ce $3,568kcw wrote: Either way at Taylorguitars.com they have a price list and Daves 914 and 714 are there for close to what i stated.
List price on a 914ce $5,281
And you can usually take 30-40% off of list at a retail store....

I know that Howie Day also plays this one. I've heard him play, recordings and live, and this one sounds amazing as well.

They are both moderately expensive as they are $1,200 or more. I am not sure how much the second one costs, but after tax, case, accessories, blah blah blah, I paid $1500 total for mine. Hope this helps!

I just bought the EG530SC for $575 and absolutely love it! I've had all my friends play it and since then two of them have went out and bought Tak's. But I love my 530, great sound, stays in tune really good, dreadnaught body style that produces an awesome sound...I just love it.dmfollower wrote:i'm actually saving for a tak right now, probably acoustic/elec. any suggestions?
My friend has a $1200 Martin, cant think of the model...but anyways I liked it when I first played it, got my Tak a few months later than was jamming with him one day and he let me play his Martin for awhile. And to be honest I couldnt wait to put it down and pick up my 530. Im one of those people who would take a high end Tak over a high end Martin any day.
