okay #1 I had no clue where to post this

the whole reason i am starting this is because i am wanting to learn how to solo but i need to clarify some things

1) how do u find out the key of the song??? is it the first chord or note that is played?

2) when you find the key (lets say that it is G)... do you only solo in different G scales or can u mix through many different ones (depending on the key)

3) when u find out what scales u can play in lets say G D A (I dont even know if those work) can u just freely go through them or should u wait until the end of a phrase and only start in the next scale on a specific note?

4) can someone please answer those few questions knowing that i dont know that much?

thanks so much and sorry if these are stupid questions

usually the first chord/note is the key, and they will conclude with that same chord/note, depending on whether it's in the major or minor, depends on what types of scales you use, like if it's minor you can also use the harmonic minor scale.
