mixer or powered mixer

Anyone have suggestions on a high quality powered mixer or mixer? There are so many out there which ones would you suggest to try out?

I love Mackies, they are more expensive but they are quality. If you can avoid behringer do it because their quality control is spotty. Within the same line you can have great stuff and stuff that just absolutely blows.

What kind of budget are you on?
Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?

Both Midas and Mackie are great suggestions, I would suggest you look into both of those, although I prefer Midas over Mackie. Stay away from Behringer if you plan on recording stuff vs. live application. Behringer works fine for live stuff but they are too noisy IMO for recording, you will get a better deal with one of the above. Mackie makes a good entry level one for around $100 that has like 4 inputs so look into that. Search on musiciansfriend.com and I'm sure you'll find something good.

Hey, we have a Venice in the studio and it's amazing so I figured since you mentioned it I would endorce it :). But yes, they will cost you. It would help if we were given a budget i guess.

Allan and Heath. I've used the mix wizard in the studio and mostly live and it's been great. I don't think you can beat it.
