Hollow bodied guitar question..

Unread post by DMBFan63 » Sun Nov 23, 2003 7:03 pm

I'm buying an Ibanez Artcore sometime in the near near future, and selling my 2 electrics and amp. Am i able to play an artcore, which is hollow bodied, through and acoustic amp?

a chet is a solid bodied acoustic, not a hollow bodied.

i thought it was a shallow bodied acoustic with no sound hole.

and hollow bodied implies electric.

you can play any guitar out of any amp you'd like. it will work. can't garantee the quality or nothing but it will work.

A chet is a solid bodied guitar that picks up on the vibration of the wood, so it's not just picking up the strings but picks up the wood vibration. There's more to it, but I don't know all the details.

now, back to the topic, yes you can do it. I run mine through my pod pro or through my peavey, and it sounds fine, but it will get you a pure acoustic sound with an amp made for acoustic, but you can get by with a regular amp.

My friend runs his ovation through a bass amp and it sounds alright, you never know though.

check out a Fender Blues Jr. I have that amp, very nice one, and sounds good for my fender acoustic (won't know about my michael kelly until I get a pickup for it).

The Ibanez artcore has always looked tremendously cool to me. But the rocking shops around here carry none such guitars. Let me know what you think of it.
