Hey Im playing my first ever gig tonight and the only amp I currently own is a crate 160 watt bass amp. My guitar is a martin. Im curious if people think that the guitar and vocals will sounds ok enough to use this setup. Also, how should I set the equalizer since its for an accoustic guitar.
Thanks
Brett

Re: Accoustic Guitar on a bass amp?
I think you are probably gonna find that you are missing a significant amount of highs, and as a result both the guitar and voice are going to sound muddy. As for EQ, my hunch is that you'll have to turn the treble way up to hear what you are looking for. Someone else here probably knows more than me though.Phish0742 wrote:Hey Im playing my first ever gig tonight and the only amp I currently own is a crate 160 watt bass amp. My guitar is a martin. a bass amp is closer to an acoustic amp than a regular elec amp is, so as far as guitar goes you should be alright. vocals through a bass amp, which is waht i think you were implying, will be pretty shitty i think. give er a shot tho

Yeah, I've tried it a lot of times with my band, but only for rehearsal purposes... I would try to find an alternative...mangold wrote:a bass amp is closer to an acoustic amp than a regular elec amp is, so as far as guitar goes you should be alright. vocals through a bass amp, which is waht i think you were implying, will be pretty shitty i think. give er a shot tho
