EBAY DILEMMA

Unread post by mangold » Mon Jul 24, 2006 2:56 pm

Okey Pokey heres the deal:

I found this extremely cheap Ebay auction that was suspicious to me. The item was extremely cheap and the post said to contact the seller before bidding. I did contact the guy and I said I was interested but suspicious, he pulled the ebay ad and emailed me this:
Hi,

First I want to tell you that my items are brand new, unopened box
all accessories included along with all papers and receipts that needs for an international warranty.
My price is the best you could get on market: $650.00 including shipping, handling and insurance taxes (if you are able to make the payment in 24h). As delivery service i use UPS 2nd Day Air® service with insurance and 14 days return policy (If the item will not be as you expected to be or if you are not happy with your purchase for any reason, you will be able to return it back via the same service that was shipped without paying any shipping cost and you will receive a complete refund back in the same day)
If you'll have a quick payment, i must also have a quick delivery so we can both be happy.
So, if you agree, i must tell you that i never make business outside eBay.I am doing this for my self secure also for my buyer's safe. The transaction must go through eBay and we'll both be protected.
To set up our transaction I need the following info:
Your ebay user id: ...
First Name: ...
Last name: ...
Address: ...
City: ...
State: ...
Zip: ...
Country: ...
I will forward eBay both mine and your's info. Shortly after they verify us you'll receive important guidelines + instructions (please go through them exactly).
This is all about this transaction and i will do all my best to serve you well, because my interes is to have satisfied customers who should recommend me.

Gabriel
he didnt ask for any info that could mess me up right? He cant get my credit card info from eBay just by having my user ID right? Is this a scam? IF NOT I WANT TO BUY IT[/i]

why did he pull the auction? that's very suspicious. i definitely would NOT go through with any deal with him unless it was through a valid ebay auction using a payment method that you can recover if necessary.

What payment method would you suggest? If its done through eBay there isnt any real danger right? Doesnt eBay cover that kind of stuff?

if you pay through paypal and get ripped off paypal will pretty much reimburse you no questions ask. than they just pursue the other guy to get the cash back. has happened once to me and once to my dad.

It's not my first choice, but the only half-decent one that works with eBay is PayPal. Make sure the seller is Paypal verified, and look for "PayPal Buyer Protection". If it has that, make sure you follow Paypal's instructions on how to make sure you're covered for up to $1000 if the seller isn't legit.

BOSE Personalized Amplification System PS1, L1, AND B1

The Single Bass Package consists of:

One L1 Cylindrical Radiator® loudspeaker and PS1 power stand

One R1 remote control

One B1 bass module

Professional padded gig bags (black with white Bose logo) for: L1-top, L1-bottom, PS1 and B1 bass module

All of the necessary amplification is built into the PS1 power stand: no external amplifiers are required.

The Single Bass package is for musical instruments that operate in the bass/baritone range. Keyboards, guitars, various horns, and lower-range vocals are all amplified accurately and naturally. Consider the Double Bass Package for bass guitar, kick drum or organ.

The system assembles from easy to carry and transport pieces, and sets up in minutes.

The L1 speaker is made of extruded aluminum. The PS1 power stand is contained in a plastic-clad steel reinforced shell. The B1 enclosure is made of vinyl-clad high-density MDF.

All components are designed for the extremely hostile environment of live music and come with professional gig bags for protection during storage and transportation.
