mic or pickup
i have a nice acoustic guitar that doesnt have a pickup in it. i really the way it sounds, and want to play it through an amp. i would prefer to go pickup and ive been thinking about a fishman pickup like daves. but im worried that it might alter the sound of the guitar. because of this, ive been looking at mics. but i really would rather not having to set up a mic every time to play. so i guess what im asking is installing the fishman matrix pickup going to change the way my guitar sounds enough that itd be better to go with i mic. thanks for your help.

no its not gonna change your sound enough to warrant mic'ing everytime you play, but dont just go with the matrix cause dave has one. they have mics that mount on the inside of your guitar and check outh big band too, they have some prettty sweet stuff.

Blew my mind when I heard the difference in the videos on the above site. Tim Reynolds just started using this pedal in his live acoustic shows. It really makes a plugged-in guitar sound like it is miked with a really good microphone.

I haven't heard it yet, but I know he's used it on dates in July, so I'm looking forward to listen to a demo of the pedal that doesn't come from Fishman. I'm going to keep watching archive.org for new TR shows as well as Bit Torrent. I may be able to post some audio here once I get my hands on some.Trippin Hillbilly wrote:No shit? I have been using the M1 Active for a while and I couldnt be happier. Its easy to install and remove if needed. It also produces a very accurate sound. One thing that makes it unique is that it picks up the vibrations of the guitars body as well as the strings vibrations. I would suggest using both a mic and a pickup if the location is right. You can get some very full sonuds this way.
