D-18GE OWNS... I didn't like the V neck on my 18GE at first either, but after a week of hard playing it felt fine. Anyway, back on topic. That is way overpriced for that guitar, you can get the rosewood version of that guitar (which in my opinion is much better) for a little under $1400 with a cutaway and electronics. I also prefer the D-35 over the D-28 any day of the week, but it boils down to what you think is better. I liked the D-16GT better then the D-28 also, but that's just me, a lot of people say different. I guess I don't blame you for looking into getting the 16 over the 28, it makes sense to me. Don't buy that guitar for that price. Guitar Center's will match any price you can find. Call Maurys Music at 610-871-1673 or go to Maurys music at http://www.maurysmusic.com . The website will not have the actual price because of a policy called MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) but if you call him and ask for a quote he will give you 42% off of Martins retail price of any of their guitars.checkii wrote:i hated the v neck and dont like the sound quite as much, and the 3 piece back on the d35 is so damn sexy.CWMCALL wrote:the hd-28v sounds great but I just couldn't get used to the V-neckbbatsell wrote:that honor belongs to the hd-28vcheckii wrote:D-35. that guitar was made by the gods.

I already own the D16GT. I was wondering what a reasonable resale price was on the 16.mattinbeloit wrote: I liked the D-16GT better then the D-28 also, but that's just me, a lot of people say different. I guess I don't blame you for looking into getting the 16 over the 28, it makes sense to me.
I can't explain it but I really prefer the regular D28 or D35 over the HD.bbatsell wrote: that honor belongs to the hd-28v

Disagree. I think they sound very much similiar in the midrange to high, but once the HD-28 ages and opens up, the HD sounds distinctively better. See if you can find some Martins from 80's to compare, because you will have the guitar for a long time, and the sound will change.checkii wrote:agreed.mlb1399 wrote:I can't explain it but I really prefer the regular D28 or D35 over the HD.bbatsell wrote: that honor belongs to the hd-28v
