why is that? I'm getting a new guitar now myself, and it looks like I'll go with the Martin DM. The other option is getting a Larrivee with electronics/cutaway from Canada, but that would be a lot of hassle.

to the thread starter: congrats on the new guitar, that's awesome! :)
Nothing wrong with the cutaway or electronics. Mine has it and it sounds wonderful, its just that the same model without those is technically going to have a better sound.
