Hey, I was just giving my opinion...the indonesian thing obviously a joke, but in reference to the fact they are just slapped together.
From the sound of things what he's planning to do with it all, it's going to become a pretty decent guitar...if it looks like the guitar in that picture than that it will very sweet looking as well.

On an electric, the wood is far less important to the actual sound. Sure hollow bodies have more sustain and such but solid bodies, imo it really doesnt matter what the wood is as the sound is created solely by the strings vibrating and the pickup.elijah77jc wrote:hey thanks for the help guys, but one question is still unanswered.
regardless of the paint job, if i put some great pickups in this thing, is it still going to sound sub-par? is the wood good enough quality for such an upgrade?
or should i just use this as a practice job for the real thing?
The first electrics didnt even have wood around them, they only put it on to make them look more like guitars.
A good amp and pedals and pickup will be FAR more important to the sound than the wood.

i used some spray on chemical stripper for the back and sides and it worked spectacularly. after you let it set you just scrape off the paint with a razor blade.
but the sides were a BITCH!! for some reason the stripper didn't work on them so i had to just chip away as much as i could with a utility knife and then sand down the rest. my arms are STILL sore!

I was always told that squirers werent even made of solid wood. I was under the impression that they were some sort of composite like mdf or fiberbaord (i dont no what exactly). Either way they're cheap and shit.

V: Who? Who is but the form following the function of what... and what I am is a man in a mask.
Evey Hammond: I can see that.
V: Of course you can. I'm not questioning your powers of observation, I'm merely remarking on the paradox of asking a masked man who he is.
