String cleaner?

String cleaner?

i bought fretboard oil today, but instead, the guy put "string cleaner" in my bag. does anyone know wtf this stuff is? (my guess is string cleaner...)

is it actually useful? it comes in a bottle with a little sponge attached that you rub the strings with. didn't mean to buy it obviously, is it useful?

string cleaner

I used to work in a guitar store, the only thing we used the string cleaner for was to make the strings easier to slide on.....of course you have to wipe them off because if you dont your strings will tarnish and rust. You should definately get some fret board conditioner though, it will keep it from drying and cracking : )
