Need Takamine Suggestion
Need Takamine Suggestion
My dad's partner is high up in the company that owns Takamine(or something along those lines) and might have access to VERY, VERY good prices on Takamine guitars. Does anyone have any suggestions for a very nice sounding Takamine guitar somewhere between $1000-$2000. Thanks...peace
EDIT: Just checked w/ my dad. The company is Kaman who is one of the largest distributors for Ovation, Takamine, and Hamer guitars. Any suggestions on those 3 companies???

Might Not Need That Much
I have a $900 variety with all the electronics installed (EF-341SCX). You can get a mohogany body guitar with a cedar top for under $1000. Mine sounds awsome, so I'm sure anything over $1000 would be sweet. You're pretty much going to be paying for the look and woods used, I'de check the website and just take a look at the models.

As does Pat Mcgee's...but honestly.....I would rather get a full dreadnaught and put in a Matrix II instead of getting electroincs installed. I don't know...I like the idea of no cutaway and a full bodied guitar. My first is and only is a Yamaha APX-4A thin body, cutaway. I want a full real guitar. I'l find somehting, I am sure I will...any suggestions besides a Martin D-16RGT......that's the guitar I want more than anytrhing. I can't afford a D-28 for $1400.....I now want a D-16RGT(spruce top...rosewood back and sides instead of mahogany)....still can't afford $860guitar...lemme. know if you can find a good non-cutaway takamine...lataXoosh wrote:check out what howie day uses. i'm not really good with pricing things but i have the takamine esf40c, it's the same one that howie day uses that xoosh was talking about and i wouldn't trade it for the world! i still want to look at buying a martin one day, but for now my takamine suits me just fine

D-16RGT
I agree with you about that martin d-16rgt. By far one of the sweetest and cheapest guitars out there. I will deifinitely be getting one as my next acoustic, but that won't come until a few years since i am just a senior in high school and have a full 4 1/2 years ahead of me of college.
