Alvarez AF60CK

Unread post by DunDMB1237 » Wed Mar 01, 2006 5:46 pm

Hi,
I'm kinda new here and had some questions about the Alvarez AF60CK. Has anyone had any experience with this guitar? If so whats the quaility like...I'm looking at buying this guitar but wanted some feedback first. This would also be my first acoustic guitar so I want to make sure I get a good one. Thanks in advance!

Brandon

DMBTabs, welcome to it. Can't say it enough. I haven't had any experience with that particular model, but I had an Alvarez and wish I still had it because it was AMAZING. I say, if you want an acoustic, go for the Alvarez. :)

I'm gonna have to say it looks like a bad deal to me. Heres why:

Its MSRP is 700, so youre definetly in the solid wood top range and this guitar does not have that, figured dao is fancy talk for fake or laminate koa. (not wood, but MPL) they give it a name like that to confuse the consumer. in the end this guitar is made of the same material as a 100 dollar banger. its sound will be shallow and wont age and get deeper and more resonant like real wood. check this out for some help on what i would suggest...

and oh yes welcome to the boards.

Welcome to the boards!

I don't know if this helps, but I've tried an Alvarez last week. The sound was not bad, but for the price you can/should get "real wood" like praisedave said.
