Taylor 214

Unread post by Taylor614 » Sun Feb 12, 2006 4:09 pm

Hi, I was wondering if it is worth it to buy a Taylor 214-E.
I already have a:
Taylor 614ce
Epi Chet Atkins SST
BC Rich Eagle

I was thinking about getting another guitar and want to stick with Taylor. Any advice is appreciated.

Somehow I don't even think you've ever even played one.

My 214 plays awesome, the 200 series is alot better than the laminate 100 series. I know a kid with a 400 something and IMO mine plays much better than his. Play one, and if you like it, get it, period.

i just know it seems that for the kinda price you can pay for a low end taylor, you can get a good martin.

Thanks for the quick replies. I wanted to get one, because i heard that they were a steal for the money and had some money to spend on another guitar and i found one for $700 but didnt know if it was worth it. I did see a D-15 Custom with Rosewood w/ Spruce top for $749, anyone have any experience with these?

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": "I once saw this in a movie, it was about a bus that had to keep it's "speed" above 50, and if it's "speed" dropped, it would explode...I think it was called "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down"!

I have one of the Custom d-15's with the spruce top/rosewood back & sides. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS GUITAR. Its an absolute steal for the price...all-wood martin that sounds AWESOME for $750 (ish) + a hard case. And by the way, IT SOUNDS AMAZING.

I actually like the regular D-15 better. Or better yet the 000-15s.
