As for spending, since I've got some time before I'm actually shooting for getting a guitar.. I'm certain I could easily get 700-800$ on my own, and I know my parants would chip in for at least 400$, whether I wanted them too or not.

So.. I do believe my limit would be, AT THE MOST 1,400$.

I've never heard of that brand guitar before. I just looked at their website, and the couple of guitars I'd be willing to spend that much for are ones I'd consider.

Let me ask though, what is special about the 'Palor' guitars??

The parlor is a small body guitar, there isn't anything "special" so to speak about it. WHen looking at the prices on the Larrivee website take into consideration that you'll be able to get a new one from a dealer for between 30-40% less than what you see on the larrivee website. I have two larrivee's and I can't recommend them enough. On par with anything Martin and Taylor put out.

Thanks for that bit of information. It really helps out, that means I won't be having to pay nearly as much, as well as more guitars are open for the option. All I have to do is to find the nearest dealer, which shouldn't be too hard to go about.

Now, I was curious. Despite the time I've been playing, I'm sheltered to anything outside of the basics of guitar accesories. I know preamps, capos, and straps. In alot of performances, dave's as well, I see what looks like a shallow bowl sitting in the soundhole. I'm just wondering WHAT this is and does.

I hate being a pain about this sort of thing, but it'd be pointless to google "bowl things in guitar sound holes". Thanks to everyone who's replied and all the comments I've gotten.

It's a feedback buster and is used to reduce feedback issues.

It's a soundhole cover. The condenser mic or pickup (depending on what kind of electronics you have)inside the body of the guitar can create feedback when you're plugged in. They're very inexpensive, and a good thing to have.

EDIT: hcole beat me to it.

Thanks again for the quick responses. I really appriciate all of this. I'm gonna stop looking at guitars for the night, and just pick it up and start looking deeper into a few over the next couple of months to REALLY decide on what I want to get.

I really like the community on this site, it's alot better than some other forums I use to post on. Thanks again. I'll be sure to contribute in any way I can to help others. Thanks again. ^_^
