- First off this guitar looks just damn cool. It really resembles a Chet and has no markings on it what so ever. If I knew nothing about guitars ( I know very little) then this would like very alien to me.

- I need a new guitar, period. I have a dreadnought martin RGT and need something new.

- I've played this plugged in and not, its fabulous.

-There are 26 or so reviews on musciansfriend, all say fabulous.

- 749.99...a steal!

- GO or No Go?

This is just my opinion, but if I was going to lay down 750 bones, it would not be for a guitar that's half plastic. But at the same time, $750 is really not very much when it comes to guitars.

So what I'm saying is that I know nothing. Nothing.

a pretty good instrument if you're willing to plug it in and sing poppy song and strum popular progressions

Good god, please don't give Ovation that much money. Tranman is right, it's half plastetics :)

For $750 you can get a much better guitar that will last longer, sound better, and play better than that Ovation.

The older Ovations (early 90s) sound so much better than the current ones. Ovation really cheaped out.

I won't ever buy one again.

What about Rainsong Guitars? Those prices go up to the thousands. Great sounding guitars, but completely made out of graphite

How does the manufacturer of a guitar specialize in poppy song and popular chord progressions? Come on dude.

- Personally i played the shit out of this guitar, played dave phish, fingerpicked classical gas and everything inbetween. I made the salsemen play an all wood 900 dollar takamine after i played the same song. Not a difference. The ovation has a lot of punch and could be wood, plastic, metal or made of sticks, it sounds great. but thanks for the input!!

It could be made out of unobtainium for all it matters :) My experience is that the Ovations are not worth what they charge unless you're playing it plugged in all the time ... I don't like them.
