Need advice on recording equipment
I want to be able to record directly to my computer. I was thinking about buying a M Box with the factory bundle. They are cheaper now because the M Box 2 came out. I think Pat uses one and his recordings are awesome. Also I want to get AKG Perception 200 Large-Diaphragm Condenser Mic, does anyone know if they are good? I can get one at musiciansfriend.com for $150. I have no idea what else I need to record so any knowledge about recordign will help. I mean if anyone knows a better way to go instead of the M Box that is around the same price $300 please let me know. Thank you.

Pat does indeed use one, unless he's changed without telling us. They're quite good, but some people have a problem with the fact that it operates via USB. Around $300, this is the other best option.

That's firewire, which resolves any quality issues USB may introduce. That's quite a good mic as well. This would get you a very nice start.

I'm pretty much in the same dilemma. I posted in the recording formum but maybe I should have here. I'm not going to post it again, but if someone feels like giving me a hand I'd appreciate it, especially about the Aura.
