Wireless Setup Questions (for guitars)

hey all.. . listen myself and the lead guitarist of my band were talking about picking up some wireless systems for our guitars. I play bass and he plays lead.. Shure is was dave and stefan use.. can someone run me through the details about buying a wireless system? how do they work? how is the quality of them?

Where to buy? and how expensive?
