Sup fellazzzzzz...I've also had my eye on a few Alvarez acoustics, specifically the MD90. All solid construction, Engelmann Spruce top, Rosewood back/sides, maple binding, rosewood fretboard, abalone rosette inlay, gloss finish. All this for a steal of $679.99! That's probably the best deal I've ever seen on an acoustic besides the Martin DX1R. Any of you guys played one? If so, how do you compare it to Martin/Taylor? The tonal quality is great and it is very easy to play due to the thin neck and even action. The only thing that is holding me back is in it's construction. When you hold it and play the thing it feels as though the wood is actually kind of thin. The guitar is a little neck heavy, but it feels as though the body wood is simply just a little too thin. Check the Elderly.com link below if you want. Any opinions?

Alvarez guitars are not bad. I almost bought one before I got a Taylor. They are made in Korea. That's why they are cheaper than Taylors or Martins. The only problem I saw was that the quality wasn't consistent. You might get a lemon. I would advise you to play it before you buy it, or at least make sure you could get a full refund within 30 days or something like that.

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.

I've never heard anyone that disliked their alvarez. I was about to buy one a little ways back. you can find a killer deal on a used one.
