finally got a strat.

hey people

well last week i finally recieved my john mayer sunburst strat. very nice guitar indeed. played it unplugged for a bit and it still had that nice strat sound. then i plugged it into my friends 1980 Twin reverb and it sang. the pickups really make this guitar shine. the neck pick up is home for me.

my friend played it and hes a big guitar guy and is not a fan of John Mayer at all, but hey everyone has there preferences. any way he really liked it and agreed the neck pickup makes this guitar stand out.

i gave him my acoustic and showed him how to play a few mayer tunes that i could solo over and then i got an idea that i might giving Jimi Thing a try so i showed him that tune and then i took a nice little solo trying sound like boyd playing it on the violin and i got a nice sound playing double bends and mucking aroud near the 12th fret. Now my friend has invited me to join his band on friday to play jimi thing, im gonna work on some fills and then work a bit on a crazy solo. I might look at some dave and tim stuff to get some ideas. will let you know how it all goes.

next purchase will have to be either the Hd-28v or the taylor 914c or even the 714. mainly because i really love there sound.

any way enough of my ranting.

congrats. I'm not much of an electric guitar person myself, but can appreciate a good guitar.

the production of buddy guy's sing is just a mex strat with polka dots. doesnt have any really qualities like his. or at least the one musicians friend was showing last few months.
