Time for a New Guitar
Time for a New Guitar
Ok, I've been playing the guitar for a good 7 months and decided that it's definitely something I want to continue to do. So it's time for an upgrade. The guitar I currently have an just a cheap Yamaha. I think I got it for like 150 bucks. Anyway, i've decided to go with an Acoustic/Electric and i'm split between two.
First:
Ibanez AEG10E Acoustic/Electric

I emailed sam ash with a question on this a few days ago, but they never got back to me, so maybe one of you can answer it. The guitar I have now is a regular acoustic and it has a thick body. Does this one have a thinner body like the one below, or is it normal size? My friend has an acoustic/electric and the body is like half the thickness.
Second:
Ibanez AES10 Mini Jumbo Acoustic/Electric

no real questions about this one. I like the idea that it's as small as an electric, and it's only 50 bucks more. I just don't like the colors.
So, which one do you think is better and why?
I appreciate your help,
Mike.

i got my RD20S for about $200, and i can guarentee you itll sound better than either of those. the RD20S doesnt have electronics, but i think theres an RD20SCE or something to that effect. if you dont want a dread, theres other body styles, but alvarez is still the way to go.bassman462 wrote:ya and dreadnought's are the bigger body guitars, and the 000 or folk are the smaller bodies.

it looks to have the full body, which I don't want.

Amen, for the money you can hardly beat the regency series. They sound great and play even better.

ummm if i were you i'd go with the alvarez ad60sc. ive had one for the past 3 years and it has been a GREAT guitar. sure its no martin or larrivee or taylor but it took the beating of 2 years of heavy gigging and i never had a problem with it (except for the occasional new bridge and small things like that). i loooove mine. its well worn and has my blood stained on it in various places. def go with the alvarez.

do you mean new bridge pins? because a new bridge is a much bigger deal than just some little thingdavescat wrote:ummm if i were you i'd go with the alvarez ad60sc. ive had one for the past 3 years and it has been a GREAT guitar. sure its no martin or larrivee or taylor but it took the beating of 2 years of heavy gigging and i never had a problem with it (except for the occasional new bridge and small things like that). i loooove mine. its well worn and has my blood stained on it in various places. def go with the alvarez.

that's what i was thinking, he's got to be talking about the pins or the saddle. I know my AD60SC came with crap bridge pins and saddle, i still havent gotten them replaced, i need to one day.dmb66 wrote:do you mean new bridge pins? because a new bridge is a much bigger deal than just some little thingdavescat wrote:ummm if i were you i'd go with the alvarez ad60sc. ive had one for the past 3 years and it has been a GREAT guitar. sure its no martin or larrivee or taylor but it took the beating of 2 years of heavy gigging and i never had a problem with it (except for the occasional new bridge and small things like that). i loooove mine. its well worn and has my blood stained on it in various places. def go with the alvarez.
