How do these differ from a standard dread or grand auditorium?

I guess i'm not exactly sure, it definetely wasn't a classical...i was trying out some alvarez's and i thought i was playing an auditorium bodied guitar...when i got home and was checking it out online it said it was a folk guitar (the pf90 or something like that) maybe i'm just mixing it up with a different one...but it didn't have nylon strings or anyother difference from an auditorium body that i could figure out...
