To me, Koa tops sound empty and lacking in "oomph." Their more reminiscent of the Taylor sound. Not a fan of Koa tops. SOmeone made a good analogy of a Koa top is like a gold car. It looks cool, but doesn't deliver.

I need to get an amp or something too now... And I can play into my computer too which has me excited.

i know this isnt a great reason, but it was more of a tie breaker reason then anything, but user ratings and reviewers gave this one a better score then other ones I had played in the store too so. I just tried to see which one had the most advantages. It was between this, that takamine I had mentioned, and an Ibanez I tried but I don't remember the model exactly now...
I too had a Jasmine, it almost turned me off completely to Takamine but their midrange guitars are sweet. Jasmine is a dirty whore.

Yea I've had mine for like.. a year or two and if u looked down that neck that thing has more curves to it then all the roads in Pennsylvania. Part of the reason I needed a new guitar too hahaha.

It's not THAT warped, but u can see it isn't as straight as it use to be.

I liked the mid-range takamines too, and it was a tough decision indeed.

Congrats on the new guitar, ya koa wood is actually really expensive and trust me i would i know i work in the wood veneer industry, and i almost love koa wood and almost bought this guitar, after doing some research on it thought, i found out that it's not true koa wood, it's a wood top but it's died to make it look like koa, you can't get a true koa wood guitar for under like 800ish, look at the martin for a price, but it's still a good guitar just not real koa, congrats

It's a pretty nice instrument, I've played it, sounded nice, a touch thin for my taste, but I really love bass.
