What level is your action at? And can this be inhibiting?
What level is your action at? And can this be inhibiting?
I am wondering if I should get mine adjusted so that it is lower. Mine is still at the Taylor factory setting [whatever that may be] and while its great for just about everything I have been getting this feeling that perhaps having an action that is too high will prohibit me from playing songs that may require bigger stretches. As of right now I have no problems playing Dave's songs, but I am looking to learn some more John Mayer stuff and hes got some crazy stretches too!
Any advice from you experts out there?

I still have my taylor at the factory setting. It has prevented me from playing mayer or anything. All up to you though. I would think playing with a higher action would build up muscles.cruz610 wrote:I am wondering if I should get mine adjusted so that it is lower. first of all there is on "Taylor factory setting"
acoustic mass producers such as taylor and martin use a range so your action could be on the high or low end of that range.
second of all action is all opinion and varies from person to person. if its slowing you down then lower it, otherwise there is no reason to.

no it shouldnt. unless you lowered the action with the bridge or nut and you messed up the ratios
