Help me figure out a recording setup.

Unread post by fliggil » Mon May 09, 2005 9:28 pm

I've been shopping around and I think I'm going to be upgrading to a Takamine G-Series acoustic-electric. I'm not looking to start a career out of playing or anything, but I enjoy playing and like to mess around and jam with some friends so I'm trying to build a decent little setup as well.

I think I might go for the Palmtop PS04 as far as a recording device, everyone seems to love them. What I have little knowledge about is acoustic-electric specialized amps and microphones. I think as far as an amp goes, I'd probably be willing to spend up to $200-250, and as far as a mic (including a stand, cables, any accessories I might need) up to $150-200. There seem to be so many models, and these aren't really things I can test out on my own. Thanks-

Hey I was shopping around for a condenser mic for quite some time. I wanted a condenser because i was just going to use it my home for basic recordings and everyone told me to get one of those. I had a price limit of 100$. I ended up getting the MXL V63M. I havnt got the chance to play it because ive been at college and i had it shipped home. But i will post after i get the chance to experiment. Happy gear hunting!
