I'm in the process of saving up for a Martin HD-28V, so in the mean time, I just went out and bought a Washburn D10S, on a reccomendation from buddy of mine.
It sounded fine in the shop, but when I brought it home and strummed a few chords, I started getting this vibration sound off of the the strings. It will happen no matter what, unless my finger is in the dead center of the fret. Any suggestions? Is there something wrong or am I just an idiot?
While I'm here, I may as well ask another question. What should my fingering be for this chord, I can't quite seem to get it down:
E:-2--
B:-3--
G:-4--
D:-4--
A:-2--
E:----
Thanks.

e - 1st finger (index)
b - 2nd finger (middle)
g - 4th finger (pinky)
d - 3rd finger (ring)
a - 1st finger (index)
e
your index finger lays flat all the way across the strings. it's called a barre chord.
1. try pressing down harder
or
2. take it back and tell them to raise your action.

Thanks, I was barring the 2nd fret but I think I was leaving a string open.
And I'm pressing down as hard as I can, so I'll bring it back to the store and get them to have a look at it. It's probably as simple as raising the action, like you said.

yea they really SHOULD do it for free. i've been messing w/ guitars for awhile and i still refuse to mess w/ that kind of stuff. i'm so scared i'll be stupid and like snap my neck or something. matter of fact i need to lower the action in my martin, but i'm going to take it somewhere

why did you buy a guitar if you were saving up for one? wouldnt you be that much closer to the martin if you never bought the other one?

Because I was in between guitar and had no guitar at my house, so I needed one in the mean time. I can't wait 6 months to save up without having a guitar, I'd go mad.

Your action is probably too low...my roommate's guitar is the same way.
