Need help picking an acoustic-electric, ~$500 range

Hey all, I've been playing on an Olympia OD10S by Tacoma, nothing special but it's been my first guitar for the 2 1/2 years or so that I've been playing. I'm looking to upgrade this summer and want to go acoustic-electric, I'm gonna try to start building a little recording setup as well. I was just curious what people's recommendations were for the $500 range (give or take a little), I'm going to be checking out some stores and such over the next few weeks/months, but if there's a certain model enough people recommend, I'd make the effort to make sure I try it out, even if it isn't carried in my local stores. thanks Tranman, seems to have some very good reviews, there's like 30 different models in the G series, anything in particular I should be looking at here?

Takamine, Alvarez, and check out some higher end washburns too.

Specific models are no good here, you just gotta play em man, its all personal opinion.

we can list the brands, but you gotta either take a gamble and order one that you think you'll like (i did and i am more than happy) or play a shit load till you find that one that fits the glass slipper.

And do a search, theres about 30 threads on "what guitar should I buy in the $500 price range".
