Don't beginner Guitars typically have Great action becasue it is a "beginner" guitar. I learned on a Jumbo. What a fucking mistake, the strings felt like they were 4 inches from the fretboard.c_tietze wrote:You buy crap you get crap. I have a hohner hw220. It was $80.00. Has pretty low factory action.. Easy to play up and down the whole neck. Sounds decent. I play it more than I do my mid-level Takamine which is probably going to be sold soon because of the fact.c_tietze wrote:You buy crap you get crap. I've considered buying one of these cheapie dreadnoughts just so I can string it up in raised B, open Dmaj, or something like that. If the durn thing isn't going to last a year, then I'd sure get the use out of it I needed. No truss rod mentioned, and the neck is nato - that could be a big problem.
I bought the $40-50 Rogue mandolin and the $20 Rogue baritone ukulele recently and so far I'm very impressed. But I know they won't last forever.
On a side note, musician's friend won't put up a review if it's overly negative. They do have to make sales and all.
EDIT: Hey, my review is on the page for the Rogue mando!

If it really sucks, next time someone gets lippy with you while you are playing it you can just calmly stand up and smash it right over their head ala the "Honky-Tonk Man". Ya, That'll teach 'em to open their mouth...Usaj88 wrote:well i bought one. it was $46 shipped. I'll let you know how it works out.. if its really shitty it'll be good to fuck with and atleast ill have a guitar to play at home durign the week while the other one sits at school.

its not a bad guitar at all. took a few re-tunes out of box but thats expect with a new guitar. For $50 i am completely satisfied, hell some of the kids in my guitar class have way shittier guitars that they payed more for. In fact there are some things about it that I like more than my Ibanez, such as hammer-on's seem like 100x louder and playing is much smoother. But the tone of the Ibanez is definately better. Anyways if anyone has any questions about the guitar feel free to ask away, I give it thumbs up for $46 shipped.
