Need an amp for my 414.

Unread post by isaac » Tue Jul 29, 2003 2:22 am

all right...to be honest i know jack crap 'bout amps. ;) what i'm needing is a new amp though, hoping for one with two channels, one for mic and another for guitar. my 414 has the ES on it, erm if that helps. hehe.

i'm lookin' to spend anything under a grand.

tried out a California Blonde and thought it was great...some buzzing on the in-store one, though. also heard a lot of people pledging on ultrasound amps, and even others refusing to go with amps and just buying PA's. don't know! ;) anyway, help would be appreciated. thanks, ya'll.

Go to the musician's forum. There's a guy selling a fender acoustisonic something or other. Retails at $650. He's asking $300 plus shipping.
Peace,

does it really have to be a custom? i think if you go with a custom anything you'll be paying way too much, unless you specifically have some strange wishes that some model doesn't have...

yes...i have some strange wishes. but i'm going to be looking around for the next year or so to see if i come across something else, since it'll be a while until i can afford anything decent. as you can see, i'm buyin' a new amp, anyway.

will probably just do a hunt for a nice Martin to complement my Taylor *avoids the flames*.

only reason i considered it was for a graduation present.

other then that, just chillin' at the local guitar store has become my best bet.

Jesus christ Isaac, first you buy a 414, then in a thread about what kind of amp to buy, you are already talking about buying another guitar that is going to be custom made... WTF??? Maybe I am just jealous cuz I broke my bank account with my guitar purchase.

I know, but thinking about buying something is just as dangerous...

unfortunately. you feel unstoppable until you're walking around and you think you've forgotten your wallet, but really, it's just empty and bare...*sigh*

yeah, weightless almost. its kinda hard to forget that you are bitchass broke when you have several thousand-dollar guitars sitting around staring at you. With that big eye(soundhole) and only six teeth(bridgepins), with only an upper lip(saddle)...and why am I still on these boards???
