Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Audio Card
Is this a good card for recording music from my guitar and maybe vocals. I do have Adobe Audition for audio editing if that matters? I am kind of new to studio editing so any other tips would be greatly admired. Thanks a lot.

As far as I know the Soundblaster line is more for gaming and surround playback. There are plenty of other cards that are designed for recording.
E-mu makes some good cards. They're actually the "recording" part of the same company that makes Soundblaster cards (Creative).
M-audio also makes a really good, cost effective card.
I've heard that the E-mu has quite a learning curve. If you're pretty good with computers but don't know shit about recording you might be able to get by. If you don't know much about either than you'll probably encounter a lot of headache.
Are you recording Acoustic guitar via a mic or a pick-up or is it an electric? If you record vocals would you want to track them at the same time as the guitar?

Re:
I will be using an Alverez Ad-60-Sc Acoustic-Electric to record. I also have a shitty Sammick electric guitar i might fuck around with too. The thing is, I totally suck trying to play guitar and sing at the same time...I dont know why. Any tips or more suggestions about the sound card or how to actually do both at the same time haha. Thanks

Price?
I would like to stay at about 150 dollars. I work at best buy so if that place had any of the parts, my price range would expand due to the discount, but I highly doubt they would have it. Thats why I asked about the Sound Blaster card since I can get it cheaper. I do not need something high end, just something that would give me good sound quality. Right now, I hook my Al. to the mic jack using the converter and it sounds....half decent just for showing my friends and stuff ya know. There are so many covers I want to do that I just yearn for something thats going to give me optimal preformance. So yeah. Thanks

I have used the Audigy 1 to record things with and it worked great and the Audigy 2 is only supposed to be better......I dont use it anymore to record because I upgraded to a Delta 1010 24 bit external sound card, but unless you have hundreds of dollars of other equipment, an Audigy 2 sound card isnt going to hurt your recording. In other words, it is perfectly fine for recording with.
sounblaster is pretty tops

Well the fact that you work at best buy and you plan to buy from there narrows it down significantly. I'm not sure why I even bother.
Next time just say "someone please justify my purchase for me" and I'll happily tell you it's the perfect choice.
I'm not sure what your discount is but the cards I mentioned might end up cheaper without it. If you don't need something high end why are you looking at a $200 sound card? The Value one will work just fine and it's $70 without a discount.

well...
I didnt say I must buy it from best buy, but since i do work there gives me a greater option of buying something that could be greater quality-wise for a cheaper price for me...more bang for the buck in a way...I thank ya for all of your guys suggestions and stuff, but would the cards you suggested have a front panel as well. I would try google searching the cards, but my internet is kinda messed up right now. Thanks

I have an Audigy 2 Platinum Pro and it is great. I started out last year recording with the fishman pickup in my taylor, but recently i bought a Shure condensor mic and hook it up to the audigy through a blender and it is studio quality. I would say without a doubt go with the audigy 2 platinum Pro man, great card. Plus its also good for games and i have a 7.1 surround sound system
