i went over to this guy's house to fix his computer and he told me to bring my guitar. he is the choir director at my church and he writes a lot of his own music which gets sung there.
so, he played my new 814 and i played his D28. very fun, i haven't played with anyone in a lot of months. this thing sounded so good. the finish was obviously wearing and it looked worn, but WHAT a mellow sound. 8)
I just played a 1978 Martin D28

"Forget about what you are escaping from," he said, quoting an old maxim of Kornblum's. "Reserve your anxiety for what you are escaping to."

I know man, i went to "Music-go-round" a sort of guitar thrift shop, lol, and I played a 1980 Martin dread that sounded just beautiful in my hands, i was like, "GOOD LORD, I'll NEVER GO BACK TO MY TAK!" unfortunately they said i couldnt go home with the guitar unless i payed an ungodly price, so in the end they pealed it from my hands
But really, those things are amazing, such a mellow voice, yet all ranges are covered, not really lacking anywhere, mmmmmmmmmmmm..... martin
