Make sure you ask the return policy just in case you dont like it ;-)
Tranman...

Are you sure that the unit runs by USB 2.0? I looked all over the net but couldn't find anything that says it runs USB 2.0 I want to get the MobilePre, but I don't have USB 2.0 so I wouldn't be able to use it well....I'll have to get the fasttrack instead, but I just want to make sure that it runs on USB 2.0, cause I looked one of these things up on ebay and asked the seller what USB it runs on and he says he looked through the manual and found it runs USB 1.1, nothing about 2.0..

I don't think it runs on 2.0 but whats the difference if you don't have any 2.0 ports on your computer?

Well If it ran on 2.0 and I didn't have 2.0 ports, it wouldn't work right?

I'm not sure, can you clear this up?

Pretty sure it will only operate at whatever you have, no matter what its capable of... So if you don't have 2.0 it should still work, just not at 2.0 speed.

Ah, I see thanks for that.

Now what do you guys suggest, the m-audio fast track, or the premobile? Really, I just want simple acoustic guitar recordings and vocals. All I'm gonna have is one sm57 going into either a fasttrack or premobile and then right into my computer. Budget is really tight, so I'd like to go with the cheaper fasttrack, and that's all I think i'm gona need...

BTW, when I hook my SM57 into the USB interface, I need an XLR cable right? What kind of cable do you guys recommend?

i dunno abou the fastrack but with the mobilepre you can record two inputs at once. so you can plug your guitar and use the mic for vocal.

just get any cable, doesnt matter in your case.
