hey has anyone every played a banjo or know anything about them? I just play guitar and always thought banjos sounded cool and would be neat to learn. I was half joking the other day with my mom about getting one and she said she would buy one for me for my birthday! i don't know if this is worth it or not, what do you guys think?

i've kinda been tossing around the idea of playing banjo... (if i just knew the way it was tuned i could teach myself...)

i think it would be cool to get a banjo, but make sure you are absolutely certain you want one. have an idea of an easy song you want to learn (i know thats how most people start learning guitar!)

i think good ones run anywhere from about $500 to the price of an expensive taylor, the pricing:quality ratio is pretty similar to that of a guitars...
