Since the above poster was quite vague, I'll help you out. Dave uses D'Addario EXP15 and D'Addario EJ39 strings. The EXP15 are his main choice: they are coated, last long, sound great, and don't have a slippery feel like Elixirs do. The EJ39 are for 12 string guitars, so I assume the ones you want are the EXP15's. I use them myself and they are great.

But...I'd highly reccommend trying the EXP 16s. Incredible strings. They're the Mediums. The 15s are lights.

It may take a day or 2 to get used to Meduims, but you'll love the sound and tone that comes out of your guitar. I promise. No, really. I promise. Really. :D

Edit: messed something up.
Peace,

Stunt

 haha...the reason the above poster was so vague is because he hates D'Addarios  8)

Actually the EXP15's are extra lights:

..and the EXP16's are lights. Happy strings, still prefer EJ16. Hooray for cheap.

I knew I messed something up in posting in haste from work.

TRY THE EXP 17s. That's what I meant. Those are the best.
Peace,

Stunt

The D'Addario site says (http://www.daddariostrings.com/viewfull ... =100003804) he uses EXP15's (extra lights) and EJ39 (12 string), but who knows.. anyone know if he uses lights or mediums for his dreads?

Hrm. Every other Dave site I've ever seen says he uses EXP16's, and his strings don't sound like lights to me.

*shrugging* I honestly have no idea, D'Addario's site has been the only site where I've seen his string gauge listed and such being the topic of this thread I posted the information.

Do you happen to know which other sites listed his string information?
