Opinions on a Fishman Matrix Natural 2

Unread post by UNCcrombie » Wed Dec 08, 2004 11:12 pm

I'm in the market for my 2nd pickup (I had a fisman neo-d passive soundhole pickup) and am looking to upgrade. I think the acoustic matrix natural 2 would be a good choice for my small stage/recording style (nothing big going on here).

i have an alvarez rd20s which is full body/solid wood dreadnaught without any other previous pickups installed or a EQ/Premp

what are your opinions? thanks

i have one. it does the job, now i'm spoiled by my ES system on my Taylor but the matrix has the drawback of not being easily adjustable. otherwise go for it, very stealthy.

i believe the fishman matrix is the next best thing to that monster taylor setup. otherwise, its the best acoustic pickup out there.

how does a built in preamp work. from what i've seen all you get is the pickup, battery and the 1/4 jack. Where's the preamp?

chances are you can just install an onboard or buy a floor mounted one later if the built in one isn't what you need. for me i dont need a seperate one right away, i can wait until like may

the Taylor ES cant be installed in any other guitar. not that people wont, it CANT BE.

the ES system uses Taylors NT neck as a factor in the pickups. no other brand uses Taylors NT neck obviously. therefore, no other brand can use it.
